I’ve recently returned from a month in India ~ I’ve called it “My Epic Journey.” Before going, I established a Go Fund Me page & I am ever so grateful to my friends that supported me. After returning, I began posting my pictures on FaceBook & my niece, Jessica, suggested that I do a blog ~ thank you, Jess, you are my inspiration.
India has been a passion for me for many years. About 12 years ago, my goddaughters lived with me for a period. Hannah who was in high school was much more in tune than me to the Hindu culture & we spoke of going to India after she graduated ~ that didn’t happen, but that was the beginning of my curiosity & passion for India ~ thank you, Hannah.
Last September was my 60th birthday & from that arose my epic journey… there are mileposts in our lives & for me, as for many, this was one.
My multi-talented friend, Laura Plumb ~ Ayurvedic practitioner, founder of Food a Love Story, Sophia Leadership Camp for Girls & Deep Yoga ~ led me to India & to more of the beauty that is me.
If you have traveled abroad you know that the journey itself is a feat. Two & a half hours by limo from San Diego to LA to begin the sixteen hour journey half way around the continent to Abu Duabi, four more hours to Delhi & another three to Coimbatore, our first stop in Southern India, in the state of Tamil Nadu. We were met by our delightful guide, Madhav, who shepherded us gracefully for the next month to our first destination at the Ayurvedic Clinic, Viadyagrama.
